Rowdy Crowds

The media is beginning to show more clips of rowdy crowds at both presidential rallies. After hearing one of these remarks, McCain stopped for a second to address the issue. He said that he knew Obama was ultimately a good guy. Very big of McCain to calm down a rowdy crowd at a rally. I commend McCain for that.

My issue is not with the candidates, or even those spewing the hatred at these rallies. My problem is when people shake it off and say, "well the other side does it too." Big deal, it still happens and should not be ignored. My biggest objection is with people like Michelle Malkin and her drones who comment on her blog. People who point fingers and say things like, "that's what liberals do" or, "what would you expect from a Republican" are too blind to see any issue for what it truly is. Generalizations hold no truth.

  1. From Michelle Malkin's site:

Original comment: "Why can’t we do purple ink on our fingers like they do in Iraq?"

Response: That will work. The ones with the purple Kool Aid stained lips are the Obama voters.

  2. Is that a racist comment or was the comment saying that those who have Kool Aid stains on their fingers are drinking the "Obama Kool Aid" in believing what he is saying he will actually do... contrary to his record?

If its the former, you're right, that's despicable. If its the latter, its by and large true.

I would bet a large percentage of people who are voting for Obama, are doing so because he is the anthesis of George Bush. They are not taking into account the fact his tax and spend record, his associations with radicals and racists, and the fact that America really doesn't know much about this guy. If this election were a referendum on Barack Obama, he would lose in a landslide. It's not. It's a referendum on George W. Bush...and I can't blame people for blindly lashing out. Though I also feel that if I put Mickey Mouse on the stage preaching change, if he was the opposite of W, he would probably win.

  3. It was pretty apparent he was referring the large numbers of black people voting for Obama.

Perhaps he will win only because of how bad the Bush administration has been. But I believe, and I may sound like a broken record or any democrat at a speech endorsing Barack Obama, that the Bush administration got to where they were because of their conservative beliefs. Obviously it is only speculation because it could easily be argued more restriction in the financial market would have been equally detrimental to the economy. The fact is, we don't know that so people are more likely to draw the conclusion it was the Bush administrations beliefs that were at fault.

As for the Iraq war, I do not fault all Republicans for getting into the war, I lay that blame primarily on the Bush administration.
